Capture Every Moment
WEDDING AND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS
Capture Every Moment are a father & daughter photographer team based in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Carissa and Paul have many years’ experience in wedding & portrait photography and pride themselves in giving their clients outstanding photos to cherish for years to come.
We have had the pleasure of working with Carissa & Paul on many occasions and so we wanted to share a little bit about themselves and the work they love doing.
Below, Carissa answers our questions.
How long has Capture Every Moment been up and running? Capture Every Moment started in 2009, so this year is our eleventh year in business.
How did you make the decision that you wanted to work together? Paul photographed a few weddings and portraits for friends prior to Capture Every Moment and sometimes I would assist a videographer friend with filming at events and weddings. Paul wanted to pursue a career as a photographer and suggested I used my skills as a videographer and work as a team…so the rest is history!
How did you get into working in the wedding industry? We photographed a few friends weddings and then through word of mouth from friends we started getting more and more enquiries. We photographed portraits mainly at the beginning and our reputation grew amazingly. Over time I decided to move away from videography and just concentrate on photography.
Tell us some interesting fun facts about yourselves or your business Carissa: • I love a cup of tea • I have Welsh roots • I choose crisps over chocolate
• I’m friendly yet bossy • I love photographing newborn babies! Paul: • Always coffee for me • I'm originally from the West Midlands • I have passion for my work • I used to be a karate teacher
Do you have any funny or interesting stories to tell from a wedding? We have photographed many weddings with emotional speeches which have moved us to tears, there have been bridal parties dancing down the aisle, a groom split his trousers, we've seen a best man crying during the ceremony and lots of dodgy dancing over the years. We have so many other stories and some we couldn’t possibly say!
What is the best style of wedding that you have seen and why? This is a hard one but we do love it when couples don’t always stick to the traditional and do things how they want to do.
Last year in particular we had quite a few couples have a dessert buffet (friends and family brought in baked goodies too) after the meal, so they could pick what they wanted to eat and eat more casually with a cuppa!
Also, last year we photographed a traditional wedding outdoors and in the evening the bride & groom changed for a Hindu ceremony, it was great to see two different ceremonies in one day.
What do you both love the most about your job? Carissa: I love the speeches as you learn so much about a couple. Paul: The emotions, tears and laughter, especially during the speeches and ceremony.
How do you like to relax and unwind after a busy day of capturing a couples wedding day? Do you have any guilty pleasures? Carissa: Haha. on the way home we either snack on crisps or get a burger! After a wedding as soon as I’m home my shoes come off, PJs go on and just a cup of tea for me…..sometimes a glass of Gin if I fancy it but most times I just want to chill and look forward to bed. Paul: A glass of Whisky for me.
